We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. So, the little girl has an older brother. He's about a teenager and he has a lot of things to do; he's busy with sports, school, and listening to his iPod.
And the little girl misses playing with her older brother. She feel as as though he doesn't like her anymore. So, she tries to be more grown up by giving up everything that makes her a kid: milk, cookies, teddy bear, blanket, and toys. The balloon signifies her trying be taller, to make her seem older.
As for the quote: "If I gave up everything I loved, would you play with me again?"
Does it make sense now, or should I explain it a different way?
